This financial strain not only affects families but also takes a toll on seniors on fixed incomes and contributes to the exodus of businesses from the state. The repercussions of unaffordability are evident in the rising rates of homelessness and housing insecurity. It is imperative to develop comprehensive solutions that make Connecticut more affordable, ensuring a thriving community for all.

Connecticut consistently ranks as one of the least business-friendly states in the nation, leading to a concerning trend of businesses relocating and, consequently, the loss of crucial job opportunities. As the next State Senator for Connecticut’s 6th Senate District, I am committed to overturning detrimental legislation enacted by the General Assembly that stifles job creation.

Advocating for equitable distribution of funds within the 6th Senate District is essential for the advancement and well-being of our community. Inadequate funding for Payment in Lieu of Taxes (P.I.L.O.T.) has detrimental effects on crucial services and infrastructure, placing a strain on local budgets and diminishing resources available to our communities. Addressing the funding gaps is imperative, and we must actively work towards securing increased education funding and improving bonding formulas for our district.

 It is crucial that we receive our fair share, and it is time for someone to take the lead in championing this change. Our current state delegation has not been sufficiently proactive in advocating for our towns to receive their equitable share. As your next state senator, I am committed to collaborating with our municipalities and local elected officials to secure increased state funding. This funding will be directed towards vital local programs, such as education, infrastructure, and resources for our seniors.
